iPod Speaker Dock Does HD Radio Too

iLuv iHD171 iPod Speaker Dock Does HD Radio Too

Not all iPod speaker docks are equal, as the iLuv iHD171 can attest to that. This beauty is not only able to hold a variety of iPods in its dock, it also features an integrated HD radio that allows you to tag HD songs which will then be stored on your iPod or iPhone, which probably translates to you being able to download them from iTunes at a later time. Other features of the iHD171 are pretty much standard when it comes to iPod speaker docks, and you do get a wireless remote, relevant video outputs and synchronization ability when the iLuv iHD171 rolls out next month for $200.

iPod Nano Speakers for Big Music

If you want to blast music from your iPod Nano, you'll need speakers. Fortunately, you can get speakers made for iPod Nanos specifically, or simply go with a standard set of mini speakers. This article takes a look at some speakers for the iPod Nano. If you don't have a home stereo system to plug your iPod Nano into, mini speakers by various companies like Sony, Coby, or even Koss work simply fine. They're generally pretty affordable too, and all you have to do is plug the speakers into the iPod Nano's headset jack to start enjoying music. Depending on the model, some speakers may or may not require batteries, or they may come with a power adapter or USB cable. An average set of mini speakers will run you about $10, like the Sony SRS-P7 Passive Speaker System with Stereo Mini-Plug Input, which was listed for $9.99 at amazon.com. You won't get the same quality you would with a nice set of Bose speakers or other home system, but it should be adequate for personal use as long as you don't anticipate CD quality sound. Although mini speakers work fine with iPod Nanos, stylistically they don't really match up that well. If you require speakers designed for iPod Nanos, you can try the iPod Nano Portable Aluminum Speakers with USB Power Cord. These speakers cost $9.99 at handhelditems.com, which also has the iPod Foldable Multimedia Speaker - HiSound for $39.99 (check the website for current prices and availability).

Other Features

Both of these units work with most iPods, not simply Nanos, as well. They have a remotely iPod look to them and come in white. Still, they're physically not the most exciting looking speakers ever. If you require unique looking ones, try visiting The Sharper Image online at sharperimage.com or flip through one of their catalogs. If nothing else, they have some unique looking speakers and accessories for Nanos and iPods. For example, they have the "organic looking orb" (as described in the catalog) Magic Wave Speakers, which includes an FM transmitter that works via a motion sensor and a light show! You can plug it right into your iPod via the headset jack.

The Magic Wave costs $39.95, and there are other fun products like the miFlower. You can plug this flower-like speaker/toy into your iPod, and it will bop along to your music by moving and flashing its lights. It also has an LCD face and includes a clock. The miFlower costs $24.95. There are also other fun speakers/toys like the i-Dog or i-Cat as well, so check them out if you're looking for something diverse.

portable ipod speakers Review

Speakers for your iPod. You have your iPod, but now you want more. The Apple digital media players are great when you are on the go or just want to listen to music by yourself. But what if you want to listen to your music while you are doing other activities around the house? What if you want to take your iPod music with you to the beach or the park so that others can share in your music taste? Imagine everyone huddled around your earbuds to listen to that cool new tune. Fortunately you can get yourself iPod speakers.

Getting a speaker system for your iPod is a great solution and a great addition for the audiophile in you. It allows you the freedom to move about the house without having to carry around your Apple media player. It's an excellent solution when you are having a party or small get together. Plus, with multiple types of portable iPod speakers, you can take your music with you to the beach, park or wherever.

"So many speakers, which do I choose?", you might be saying to yourself. It truly is mesmerizing how many different types of iPod speakers are out there. With the huge success of the Apple family of products, it seems like there are new speaker systems available daily. It all comes down to what you are looking for out of the speakers for your iPod. They basically come in two flavors, standalone and portable.

A standalone iPod speaker system are a great solution if you just want to keep the sounds of your iPod going while in the house. They tend to be bigger and less mobile. A good example is the Klipsch RoomGroove, which allows you to flood your entire house with sound.

Portable iPod speakers are a great solution when you are on the go. The smaller size makes them a perfect solution for travelers, campers, or heading of to the beach. A good example of a mobile iPod speaker is the DLO iBoom Travel, which is a great portable solution with the versatility to be used as an alarm clock, radio or iPod player.

The Systems For iPod Speaker

Portable music has come a long way since the days of the walkman in the 1980s. The walkman, popularized by Sony, allowed music addicts to travel with their favorite music in cassettes wherever they went as long as they had enough batteries to keep the device running. Then the walkman met its nemesis, the Discman, also released by Sony although Phillips electronics was the brains behind the switch from cassette to compact disc. Compact discs or CDs, introduced studio sound music to the public and music quality has never been the same again. But CDs are also cumbersome and large and therefore had to store. They are also not friendly to extremes of temperatures and can be scratched and easily damaged just like the prehistoric vinyl 12' records of the 60s and 70s. To counter this, Apple Computers invented the iPod which at this point is the ultimate in portable music and video.

The iPod boasts a huge memory capacity and therefore the ability to store, not one, but hundreds of CDs! This means that instead of traveling with a bagful of CDs and cassettes, one can easily download their entire music collection in digital format to their iPod. One can therefore walk or travel or jog or go camping with a small portable iPod containing thousands of songs.
Recently, Apple came up with portable speakers for the iPod. These are hugely popular because instead of one person listening to their music using their headsets, more than one person can enjoy quality music or podcasts. This can be highly ideal especially for college students and study groups who need to listen to podcasts.

When shopping for iPod speakers, there is as wide an array as there are manufacturers. This is because other than the regular household names' consumer electronics manufacturers, there are many other manufactures who have capitalized on the rise of the iPod and are now creating speakers and other accessories. When discussing the best speakers, we need to examine the need. Some people's usage is more than others. The brands that are currently hot in the market right now are Logitech, which is a respected computer speakers and accessories maker. For anywhere between $90 and $200, you can find decent Logitech iPod speakers which boast quality sound. Altec Lansing is another company that has gained a name for itself especially when it comes to speakers. Altec has also been manufacturing car stereo speakers for a while and they therefore have the experience to back their quality. A pair of iPod Altec Lansing speakers will cost you around $150.00 although the same company also produces more costly iPod speakers called the InMotion i600 and the Pure-Fi Dream which can run you close to $200.00. The Chestnut Hill Sound George have also gained renown due to their exceptional sound quality but these can range about $500.00 and are therefore on the pricy side. iPod speakers are definitely here to stay and anyone serious about transforming their musical experience should invest in these.

Edifier's Portable Sky Blue iPod Speaker Also Works With the iPhone 3G

edifier.jpg

N ext to my bed sits an iPod speaker. An expensive iPod speaker I might add. It has pretty good sound quality, looks funky and has an RF remote control, which means I can control my tunes from the other side of the house, which is surprisingly useful.
So imagine my disappointment to find that it doesn't work with the iPhone. It will charge the iPhone, but if I want to listen to music, I have to pull out my old iPod Photo. Disappointing is an understatement.
It goes to show that more expensive isn't always better - the new iF330 from Edifier is not only lightweight enough to carry with you, runs on AC or battery power and works with both iPods and iPhones, it comes in for just $99.95. It may not have the RF remote, but would you really

expect it to for that price?
Of course, there's no mention of any shielding from GSM interference either, and for the price I probably wouldn't expect it. But I have to admit I am intrigued. Maybe I'll get one in for review to see how it fares as a bedside iPod dock...

Crazy and funny iPod Speaker ad with a hot girl

Found this crazy iPod speaker commercial and the commercial is
a little risky like those weird European commercials, but the end is
actually kind of funny. The girl is pretty hot too :)
